The house is a universe inside another, it communicates with the exterior through semi-permeable brick walls, as they allow the ventilation and lighting while creating the right amount of privacy, next comes the micro patios, the ones that bring nature in.
Instinto Estudio got in charge of design a house at Escazú, in a residential complex with one and two story houses.
The challenge was to create a place to meet with family and friend and to dwell individually at the same time.
The house is a universe inside another, it communicates with the exterior through semi-permeable brick walls, as they allow the ventilation and lighting while creating the right amount of privacy, next comes the micro patios, the ones that bring nature in.
The central patio, the heart where the stories will be told, it’s on a direct relationship with the kitchen, the dining room and the living room, the interaction between everyone who dwells it is always going to be present, the architecture allows to celebrate and share.
The private spaces are on the second level where natural light and ventilation are always present. The master bedroom terrace is an extension of the social area, becoming a sort of a VIP area, surrounded with vegetation, it reminds the spectators that nature connects us all.
The materiality goes along with the interior-exterior relationship, the brick filtrates the wind and light while creating a warm atmosphere. The prefabricated concrete walls make the construction process faster, and their grey and black tones make the house a canvas for details, nature, furniture and objets fill with life every corner.
